CLIENT: Food Processing Facility

LOCATION: North Salt Lake, Utah

Fee: $1.8 Million

PROJECT SCHEDULE: Two Years

A food processing facility contracted PSE to provide complete engineering services from inception to completion for the retooling of the North Salt Lake and Ogden facilities.  The first phase of the project involved approximately 30% design to create a detailed cost estimate.  In order to prepare an accurate estimate, our multi-discipline team made site visits, prepared bidding level drawings, made equipment/utility/fabrication/demolition lists, and performed initial calculations.

As part of the scope of work, PSE created a detailed milestone schedule to maintain project progress and budget.  This schedule took long lead equipment and construction items and used them to organize workflow for engineering, procurement, and construction. These milestones were utilized as a critical tool throughout the project.

During phase two, PSE prepared contractor bid packages for major equipment, fabricated items and construction. Pricing was secured for minor equipment, engineering estimates refined, and contingencies were added as necessary to create a +/- 15% cost estimate to be used in obtaining final funding for the project.

The final phase of the project included detailed engineering for all elements. Drawings and engineering included structural alterations to the facilities, new equipment, updated processes, new and modified utilities (water, sewer and electrical), platforms, new rooms, and HVAC.

PSE also provided construction oversight, ensuring all parts were completed timely.
